Youth Cricket Academy

Reach for a Dream is an initiative started in 1988 where children who face life threatening illnesses have their dreams fulfilled and their lives enriched. Within Reach for a Dream is the Captain Courage project. The Captain Courage project is aimed at acknowledging the bravery of children fighting life-threatening illnesses, and is a boys-only outing! The courageous outlook that these little boys take on fighting life-threatening illnesses is enough to encourage anyone, so they decided to set-aside a special day for them to take a time-out of their daily treatment and the boredom of hospital wards and get them together for a day of typical "boys' stuff"! The YCA was only too eager to assist by throwing a cricket party for the boys, where our coaches assisted the boys and fulfilled a dream, enabling the boys to play a real cricket match. The YCA covered all the costs of this day.
