In April 2008 the SCA hosted a touring school from Oxford in the United Kingdom called St. Edwards'. It was their last game on tour, and even though the rain on match day seemed considerable to say the least, the SCA endeavored to play the game as it was also our last game for the season. It was a day, declaration game, where the SCA won the toss and batted first. Shaun Whinney and Michael van Rensburg both got 50's in getting the SCA a respectable total of 198/9 dec. In response St.Edwards' were in trouble on what was now a much livelier pitch after the morning's precipitation. Nothing they had not encountered before as in the UK cricket gets played in far worse rain than this. The SCA had St. Edwards' in trouble at 140/8 at close of play, but as the last two wickets seemed elusive the game ended in a draw.
