On Tuesday 10 November 2007 the Youth Cricket Academy (YCA) played its first game against Scotland's u/15 side. In a 20 over aside affair Scotland won the toss and elected to bat first. Due to some tight bowling by the YCA side after 10 overs the Scottish were struggling with only 34/1 on the board. More aggressive play in the second half of the innings saw Scotland get to a challenging total of 104/4 after their 20 overs. Josh Rorke batted especially well for the YCA side getting 43 and Ben Minnie ended on 23 not out. The match went right down to the wire with the YCA side needing three runs to win off the last ball. Ben Minnie turned out to be the hero, hitting the last ball for four, ensuring a 5 wicket win for the YCA side.
